What Florin does

Florin helps Victorian doctors in training understand their pay entitlements under the Victorian Doctors in Training EBA 2022–2026. You can connect your Google Calendar, enter shifts manually, or upload a payslip PDF to compare against Florin's estimates. Florin is a tool to help you understand your pay — it is not a substitute for legal, HR, or payroll advice. Always verify your entitlements with your employer or union.

Accuracy

Florin's calculations depend on:

• The accuracy of your calendar data or manually entered shifts
• Correct classification of shift types (ordinary, on-call, recall, etc.)
• Our interpretation of the EBA — which may differ from your employer's interpretation

We update Florin's pay rates when the EBA is updated, but we cannot guarantee that every edge case is handled correctly. Always double-check your payslips with your employer or union.

AI-assisted payslip comparison

The payslip comparison feature is optional. It uses OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini model to identify pay components in a PDF payslip you upload.

• AI-parsed results are estimates and may not be perfectly accurate — particularly for unusual formatting or non-standard payslip layouts.
• The comparison is intended to help you spot potential discrepancies, not to constitute a definitive finding of underpayment.
• If Florin flags a discrepancy, verify it directly with your payslip, your employer's payroll team, or your union.

Third-party services

Florin relies on two external services:

• Google — for OAuth login and read-only Calendar access (if you choose to connect your calendar). Your use of Google's services is subject to Google's Terms of Service.
• OpenAI — for payslip text analysis (if you choose to upload a payslip). Your use of this feature is subject to OpenAI's API usage policy.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of these third-party services.

Liability

Florin is offered as-is, without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any losses, underpayment, or damages resulting from use of the app or reliance on its output. Financial or employment decisions should not be made solely on the basis of Florin's estimates.

Availability

Access to Florin may be restricted, throttled, or paused at any time as we improve performance and reliability.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Florin after an update means you accept the latest version.
